Hi. I have been playing runescape for a couple years now, & dedcided to try to make a pure defence player. I had tried to make a pure range one time, & accidently switched the attack mode, & gained 10 lvls quick. Ooops! Didnt want him anymore.

So, before I really mess up, what skills can I train? I have seen some skill guides, but havent found anything specific. Please, can someone give me advice? Can I train magic, range, & defence, & still be pure? I don't know.

Thanks in advance

Lol how can you not notice training 10 attack levels every time you level up a box pops up says X lv. I personally don't know anything about pures, if your char is a low level you could make a new char I guess.

You can, as long as you keep your defence a good bit higher than your range and magic. Your max hit with a pure def is like what....2? I don't think it's going to get you very far.

Ok thanks for the info. I had just reached lvl 27 on defence. I have not trained any magic, or range yet, just the basic resource skills. I just didnt want to mess up yet by adding them.

I had also heard that the dagger was best. Im using that now, but then someone else was saying the scimitar or short sword was better. Which do yall think is better for FTP?

Thanks again for the info.

Scimmy is my favorite training weapon other than the abyssal whip. For f2p and a def pure, you won't be able to use a whip, but I guess an iron scimmy would be the best weapon you could use.

I personalty think that the battle axe is the best it's not as slow as the 2 hand but almost as strong it's in the middle somewhere ;)

Ok cool thx for the info again guys. I had tested the shortswort vs the dagger. Dagger was definatly faster. I havent tested the battle axe yet. But Im in the middle of testing on an hourly basis with the scimitar & dagger now. Someone in the game said the Blurite sword from quest was best to use. I did the quest & tried it, but it was slower than the dagger. It had more str & att, but since I have no str or att, it didnt matter.

Im am 10 lvls now to lvl 37 since the other day though with the dagger. I am grinding on cows & saving hides for rune armor. I guess I can tell which will give faster xp by how fast I can kill the cows. Usually by the time I kill one cow, the next one pops up. But with slower weapons, the other cow pops up when I have the first cow to 1/2 health.

Anyway thx for all the good info once again. Take care.
