Forum code updates & performance improvements

Hello all! You may have noticed that the front page of the forums has been quite slow for a while. We've now changed the code and made it significantly faster, so you will hopefully notice that the forum loads much faster than before. Please let us know if you experience any problems.

On a side note, I know I've been somewhat inactive lately, but stay tuned as there will be some pretty big changes to GRS soon!

yay it loads quicker now.but for me the quest and skill guides take a long time to load can this be fixed?

The main aspect of loading time we can control is the time it takes to generate a page (every time you load a new page, it has to be generated specifically for your request depending on which page you've requested, whether you're logged in etc). This usually happens within a fraction of a second (guide pages are almost always generated in less than 0.02 seconds!), and therefore there's nothing more we can do to further improve the speed for you. Most likely it's an issue with the connection between the server and you, and there's not much we can do about that.

The main page of the forums previously took several seconds to generate (sometimes up to 10 seconds), which was the issue that had been addressed in this update.
